The ROI of
T-EDI Standards
The Calculator - TLDR
Research has shown that organisations can benefit from the implementation of systemic DEI improvements in cost reduction (reducing hiring costs) and productivity (increasing engagement, problem-solving & innovation). TEDI Standards is engaged in ongoing collaboration to help articulate the ROI of systemic DEI work within different organisational contexts.
The ROI calculator is designed to help leadership balance the improvements to productivity yielded from these benefits against the obvious costs of implementation, by providing figures that are illustrative of what is known from the research.
Data Inputs
This is V0.3 (Feb 2025) of our calculator, which aggregates benefits to two streams: reduction in hiring costs and increased productivity. Data points utilised are from a variety of Australian sources including WGEA, Forrester, Culture Amp and ABS. We have used ABS informed average salary levels in digital tech’s most problematic area for gender inequity and where the country’s need is felt most acutely, ie. software engineering.
Please read our methodology document for full details.
T-EDI Standards have been developed by Project F in consultation with the Tech Council of Australia and its industry members. The initiative is supported by leading industry sponsors and community partner organisations.
Project F is a respected social impact advisory accelerating systemic change to advance workplace gender equity and diversity in technology.
