FAQs

  • Once you have decided to participate in the TEDI Standards, you will complete an application and declaration. You will then receive a link to login to the TEDI Standards platform where you can take the self-assessments for each of the 10 standards. You will see indicative benchmark scores as you go but you’ll receive your accreditation mark and verified benchmark data as soon as your submission has been verified by the TEDI Standards team. Your action plans will live in the platform which you can update as you make progress.

  • While the process of self-assessment is self-paced, we ask that you complete the questionnaires within three months. Each questionnaire only takes a few minutes to complete - just make sure you have the relevant information to hand before you start them. You’ll need to be able to provide supporting information afterwards.

  • No. The self assessments ask only for answers to questions, you will not be asked to put company data into the platform.

When you have completed the self-assessments, we will ask you to provide evidence of some items, but you can choose how that is provided, so that we do not hold any company or sensitive data.

    EXAMPLE:

You answered YES to a question about whether your organisation uses a skills levels matrix in performance reviews and career conversations.

Here are some of the ways you can evidence such items:

    • Send the framework and process to us on email

    • Share screenshots of the parts it is ok to share

    • Show us over a video conference so that we can verify as sighted

    • Share in a restricted Google, One Drive etc doc then withdraw access

Any items you send to us are deleted after we have recorded them as verified.

  • No. The T-EDI Standards platform is an independent app that users log into. There are no requirements for integration.

  • The Fee for participating in self-assessment and certification is determined by the size of your organisation (APAC):

Annual Fee (in AUD and excl GST)

    • < 100 $2,000

    • 100 - 349: $7,000

    • 350 - 999: $10,000

    • 1000-5000: $12,500

    • >5000: $15,000

  • No. We feel this work requires a long term commitment, making a monthly subscription less appropriate.

  • Yes. For each standard, resources are provided to help you take the required actions. The resources include data, reports and templates. Participants can also access up to 8 free hours of advisory consulting from the TEDI Standards board, depending on the size of your organisation. Alternatively, you can engage Project F or its partners for direct consulting support.

  • No. The TEDI Standards measures progress along a maturity scale, from foundation to leading. Organisations are benchmarked on the scale and must show progress year on year to remain eligible to be certified.

  • Organisations self-assess against the standards. There are ten questionnaires to complete, with between 3 and 15 questions. Once all have been submitted, we follow up with you to verify them and your score is only set once verification is completed.

You are not required to send or upload any data or documents (but you can and we will not store it). Evidence can be provided verbally or on video calls with snippets or screenshots as appropriate.

  • You remain certified as long as you continue to make progress periodically (minimum annually).

  • Your company is plotted on the T-EDI Standards maturity scale and ranked against all other relevant participating organisations although companies are not ranked publicly at this stage.

  • Yes. T-EDI Standards announces certifications publicly and lists certified organisations on its website.

  • Organisations applying to participate in the T-EDI Standards certification must have:

    • SLT/Exec support and commitment to achieving gender EDI

    • 10 or more employees

    • A digital technology team

    • An HR/People and Culture team

  • Yes. It is expected that smaller startups will be able to reach Foundation levels and use the Advanced and Leading levels to guide organisation design as growth is achieved.

An alternative, however, would be to utilise the Tech Startup DEI Toolkit from Project F HERE.

  • T-EDI Standards has an independent expert advisory council that meets 2-4 times each year to review and advise on any development and course correction required.

  • Project F developed the national standards in consultation with the Tech Council of Australia to address the shortfall in digital technology skills in the country. The TCA has collaborated with the Project F team in interrogating the standards during their development. TCA has endorsed the Standards and promotes adoption by their members and the wider ecosystem in Australia.
